Amazon seems to have the entire Long Winters discography on sale right now for under $20 bucks.
That’s a fuckin’ steal
feelin’ like the happy genius of my household today. Not in the naked mirror dancing way myself, exactly, but feeling William Carlos Williams here for sure.

It’s Regatta weekend! Last year I made this short video thing to test out the video capabilities of the iPhone. It’s no The Social Network tilt-shifted regatta scene, but I think it turned out okay for something I didn’t plan on making.
Major high-school flashbacks there. I was never on the crew team or anything, but the sheer Cambridge-ness of this whole video really struck a chord

A brief moment of tech nerdery
I just wanted to jot this down so I could look at it in like four months and smugly pat myself on the back at how smart it was (or, like any good pundit, stuff it down the memory hole and move on if I am totally off).
Nerds and the tech press are going to go apeshit about the Kindle Fire, in stupid articles that use the phrase “iPad killer” way too much.
Meanwhile, the real story...

– ?uestlove, giving all of us nerds the fantasy that we could go up to Jay-Z and be like “Is there a chance the track could bend?” and he’d be all like “Not on your life, my Hindu friend!” and then we’d maybe high-five.

Fun Fact: I removed my birthday from my facebook profile in a spasm of “I care about privacy or whatever” but now that it is my birthday, in a spasm of neediness I put it back so people would be notified and could send me the facebook spam I don’t really want.
I seriously have all the personality disorders.

The amount of excitement audible here is going to make me smile all damn day.
Any ol’ dorkus can jump around in the ocean, but it takes a dorkus with a liberal arts degree to yell “HERACLITUS” each time they get hit by a wave.

RIP Summer Driving Playlist 09 - 10
It’s mid-May and there are occasional days with sunny bits in between the endless rain that is a Pittsburgh Spring (also fall and the warmer parts of winter and fuck, most of summer too, but still…SUMMER!), and that means it’s finally time for me to come up with a new Summer Driving Playlist.
This means, of course, that I need to lay SUMMER PLAYLIST ‘09 - ‘10 to...

Oh man, do I love Stefon sketches.
I think the only thing that current SNL is really great at is absurdist list comedy.
On the other hand, they are really, really great at absurdist list comedy right now.

Back to Archetypes
Yesterday, my co-developer and fellow Back to Work fan Matt informed me that he and another friend of his have started analyzing conversational and professional relationships in terms of who is the Merlin and who is the Dan Benjamin.
I’m still not entirely sure what this means1, but congratulations to Merlin and Dan on ascending from being people to I guess some sort of nigh-Jungian...

Important Steely Dan Questions
Okay, people, I need to ask you an IMPORTANT STEELY DAN QUESTION
(well no, I need to finish up some work, I am asking you an important Steely Dan question).
I have, through random accretion over the years, precisely five Steely Dan songs on my hard drive
(I know, Aja, Countdown to Ecstacy, etc. I should have more songs, but I have five, that is just how it is right now)
The reason I...

Dear Rogue Amoeba
So, I’ve been using LineIn and SoundSource (check ‘em out if you don’t know!) to pass through MLB AtBat audio to my iMac speakers, and they’ve been great.
Is there somewhere on the website where I can file a bug for these fucking Red Sox though?
